Retired but not retiring

It has been almost a whole month since I retired (gee, sounds like the beginning of a Catholic confession)! Am I having a good time? Yes! Am I travelling? No and why do people assume you must travel to have fun? I travelled when I was working! That was why I was working! Oh yes, that and health insurance!

Why has there been such a long time between blogs? I was tired! Now that I have been able to catch my breath, there will be more.

I have been able to see "Camelot" at the Philharmonic on a week night! I have been able to plant a sapodilla tree and three monstera deliciosas and mulch my back yard. Yes, I know, I still have the front yard to do!

I have been reading:
"The Reserve" by Russell Banks, a book reminding me of my brother's place in the Adirondacks but set in the mid-1930's,
"A Golden Age" by Tahmina Anam, a book set in the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence, "The Palace of Illusions" by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, the retelling of the 6000 BCE - 5000 BCE Indian epic "The Maharsharat" from a woman's point of view.

Life is good

Trying to adjust to idea of (voluntary) retirement myself. I think it's time. No one is saying to me, "Don't go!" But still ...
